There is another way to successfull install PI or DIS using your original non-patched installation disk!No risky files to download!Many thanks to Piedro that has first discovered it!Tested with Picture It! 7 / 9 / 10 and Digital Image Suite 2006- Close all open programs and documents and prepare to install DIS or PI- Start setup from your original diskNormally you are prompted by User Account Control to give permission, authorize it.- Choose the few options available and go on- At some point you will be presented with the usual little error window:- Click OK- Next you will be presented with the second usual error window. I recently uninstalled MS Picture It! 2000 on my Dell Inspiron 660, 64-bit OS, x64-based processor with Wins 10 Pro because it started 'non responding' a lot. Now when I install the disc and run 'AUTORUN.EXE', it starts the 'Setup' and the says to 'restart' my PC. I click on 'Yes' and the PC restarts and has a 'PI' short cut icon on the desktop. I click on that and I get a window saying 'Access is denied'.
I click on 'OK' and get a window saying 'PI' cannot start and needs 30 mb of space. I click 'OK' and get another window saying 'Shockwave (SW) not installed. I click on 'Yes' to download the latest version os SW and a blank page comes up in Google Chrome. Do you have any suggestions on doing something else. PI has been running great since for the last 4 years until a few months ago.

Tom Larkin Tucson, AZ. I'm nearly in tears with both this process AND!@#$%^& we-know-what's-best microsoft. I've installed successfully both this AND 'photo premium 10' (as an alternate), both work(ed) fine FOR A WHILE and now.BOTH maddeningly keep freezing/crashing, necessitating task manager to exit. Have uninstalled both and am absolutely INSANELY furious with microsoft for routinely screwing their PAYING customers by doing away with perfectly-viable products and/or making them literally IMPOSSIBLY incompatible with updated OS platforms.
