This is my second time posting and I got a great response last time so hopefully I’ll get a good one this time as well. I’m reassembling my l20b for a 79 datsun 620. Now I am trying to put the cam sprocket and timing chain and all that good stuff on.
I’ve looked at a lot of places and there seems to be a debate on what number the bright link can be placed. I have a manual but the images seem to be for an l16-l18. I have the key of the cam vertical and at the top as well as the crank keyway. I have the 1 (and 4) piston all the way up (TDC). And I have the valves in the first chamber as closed as I can seem to get them. Once I put the chain on I can get it on the #2 position. Is this incorrect?
