My question relates to the missing ability to choose how Word 2016 imports a PDF file (ie. I cannot choose to have Word import it as is and not try to convert the text). When we used Word 2013, I was able to open a PDF with Word and it would appear exactly as the PDF appeared, I could then edit it and add pages, etc.Now with Word 2016, when I 'Open with Word', it's trying to convert the text to editable. Obviously the PDF Reflow (sub-app of Office) has changed since Office 2013, but it'd be nice to choose how Word will convert a PDF.I'm sure there are instances where having Word convert the PDF to editable text might work great and be useful, but for my particular use I only want Word to import the PDF as it was scanned. All I need to do is add a cover page to my document and saveit as docx. Since we've been updated to Word 2016 I can no longer do this because Word automatically tries to convert my scanned-to-PDF into editable text and the results are disastrous.Anyone have any solutions? Or will there be an update to Office to allow options within the PDF Reflow app? If you do not specifically need the final document in docx format, and having it as a pdf will do, you could create the cover page, then 'print' it using the free PrimoPDF converter, and then use PrimoPDF to print the pdf document, giving it the same filename as the one you used when printing the cover page.

If you accept the option to append to the existing file, you will then have a pdf of the pdf document with your cover page on it.Hope this helps, Doug Robbins - MVP Office Apps & Services (Word) dougrobbinsmvp@gmail.com Screen shots by Snagit from www.techsmith.com.
