The Acadia Summer Arts Program
Join New Bern High School and the National Art Honors Society in our 2019 Summer Art Program Located at New Bern High School. Enjoy two weeks of acrylic painting classes and explore new artistic processes and ideas. The program is open to upcoming high school and all high school students.Your instructors will be Christopher Bennett who has received his masters in arts with a concentration in painting at East Carolina University and Kimberly Cusack a recent graduate of the Governors School of Visual Arts. Classes will be held from 10am-12pm at New Bern High School in room #362 for two weeks Tuesday through Friday from the 6th to the 9th and the 13th to the 16th of August. Ford scan tool software. There will be a $35 fee for paints, brushes, and easels. Students are advised to bring their own sketch books. This program is sponsored by FOLKS Journal.
Program Registration is handled through Craven Arts Council & Gallery's Community Box Office Program. Guidelines and Informed ConsentRegistration and Refunds:Registration and payment for the 2019 Summer Art Program must be completed and submitted to the Craven Arts Council and Gallery. Full payment is required at the time of registration to reserve the child’s space. Due to limited space, refunds will not be given. There will be no proration of fees for any days a child participant cannot attend.Age Guidelines:The 2019 Summer Art Program is for grades 7th-12th.Hours of Operation:The hours of the 2019 Summer Art Program are Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please do not drop off students before the drop of time stated in the Pick-Up and Drop-Off Procedures. Dates for the camp are August 6-9 and August 13-16.Pick-up and Drop-Off Procedures:Students need to arrive between 9:45-10:00 am and must be picked between 12:00- 12:15 pm.The check-in area for the class will be through the main entrance of New Bern High School.


Needs/Allergies:National Art Honor Society (NAHS) Summer Camp representatives are not permitted to administer medication to program participants. In the event of a medical emergency, NAHS Summer Camp Representatives will administer first aid, CPR, and rescue in the best interest of the child. Parents will be contacted if care is administered.
THE 2019 SUMMER ARTS INSTITUTEA FREE ARTS INTENSIVE FOR MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTSSummer Arts Institute is a free, four-week arts program for New York City Department of Education public school students entering grades 8 through 12 in Fall 2019 (students currently in grades 7 through 11). This intensive program is held at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens. Summer Arts Institute is administered by the NYCDOE’sOffice of Arts and Special Projects.Students can major in FILM, DANCE, INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC, ORCHESTRAL STRINGS, THEATER, VISUAL ARTS or VOCAL MUSIC. The program is designed for students at an intermediate or advanced level of study in their discipline. Summer Arts Institute offers a unique opportunity for students to work with DOE arts specialists, cultural organizations, and guest artists.
Csu Summer Arts
This experienced team guides students in building a portfolio or audition skills for their next level of study: an arts-focused high school, college/university or conservatory.The daily schedule includes studio work and experiences with professional artists. In the studios, students develop and improve their technical skills and creative expression in their art form.
The Acadia Summer Arts Program At Fresno State
Time is dedicated to rehearsals, attending professional performances, visiting arts venues and exploring careers. The Institute culminates with an exhibition and performance showcasing the students’ work.Admission to the Summer Arts Institute is by application and audition.
